Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marie takes great pride in her Alaskan heritage. She comes from a family deeply rooted in Alaska’s history, with her maternal grandmother’s family arriving in the 1930s to farm the Matanuska Valley, and her paternal grandparents homesteading in Soldotna, where Marie herself was born and raised. She, along with her husband, is raising their twins and very spirited toddler with the values passed down through generations. The family actively participates in traditional Alaskan activities, including hunting, fishing, camping, and embarking on adventures in the breathtaking Alaskan outdoors.
