Jessica Chambers, PMHNP-BC

Maria Jessica “Jess” Chambers, PMHNP-BC has spent more than a decade caring for patients and families in Alaska. She began her advanced practice career as a neonatal nurse practitioner at Providence Alaska Medical Center, caring for critically ill and medically complex newborns while supporting families through some of their most vulnerable and uncertain moments. Through this work, Jess developed a deep appreciation for the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, family relationships, and the experiences that shape us throughout our lives. Her passion for providing holistic care led Jess to pursue graduate work in psychiatric mental health at The Johns Hopkins University, where she prepared to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan.

Jess works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. She has a special interest in working with children and adolescents and values partnering closely with families to understand each individual within the context of their development, relationships, environment, and personal strengths. Her approach to care is warm, collaborative, and individualized. Jess believes meaningful mental health care extends beyond symptoms and diagnoses to consider the many factors that influence well-being, including physical health, sleep, nutrition, relationships, stress, lifestyle, and environment. She strives to create a safe space where patients and families feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about their care.

After many years of caring for Alaska’s youngest patients and their families, Jess is grateful to continue serving her community in a different capacity. She is especially passionate about helping children and adolescents build a strong foundation for lifelong emotional and mental well-being.
