Maddie Moore, L.C.S.W.

Maddie was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. After a family vacation to Alaska, she knew it was a place she wanted to call home. In 2011, she moved to Anchorage to pursue her graduate degree and quickly fell in love with both the community and the landscape. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2013 and is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Maddie began her career in mental health at Providence Alaska Medical Center, where she worked across inpatient and emergency psychiatric settings, providing stabilization and crisis support to individuals experiencing acute mental health needs. Through this work, she gained experience in chemical dependency and in conducting safety risk assessments. Maddie has also been deeply involved in the development of mobile crisis services throughout Alaska, including overseeing the launch of Juneau’s mobile crisis team and working with the Anchorage Fire Department’s mobile crisis team. These experiences reinforced her belief that compassion and understanding are essential to healing, and that people deserve care that is open-minded, empathetic, and inclusive.

In her outpatient practice, Maddie works with adolescents and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, mood disorders, emotional disturbance, and life transitions. Her work is trauma-informed and grounded in the understanding that the body and nervous system play a central role in healing. Maddie takes a somatically focused approach and incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients better understand and connect with different parts of themselves. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for trauma, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Maddie integrates these approaches thoughtfully, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs, strengths, and goals.

In working with clients, Maddie strives to create a safe, supportive space where individuals feel seen, heard, and respected. She takes a collaborative approach and believes strongly in putting each person first, honoring their unique experiences, pace, and readiness for change.

Outside of work, Maddie enjoys being active outdoors through biking, swimming, running, skiing, fishing, and adventuring. She most values time spent with her husband and children.
